Why did you choose to be a hygienist?
My original career choice was a doctor, but after my dad died and finances were affected, I decided to be a hygienist.
Tell us about your work experience.
I have worked as a hygienist since 1997. I first worked at Spring Valley Dental, and I then began in 1999 at the practice that eventually became Boulevard Dental.
What do you think people don’t know about what it takes to be a dental hygienist?
I think most people don’t understand the importance of patience in this profession.
What is the most rewarding part of your job for you?
The most rewarding thing to me is when a patient takes my advice seriously and actively works on achieving better oral health. The health of their teeth and gums are the proof that they get it.
What do you think is the most interesting part of your job?
I really enjoy hearing about the interesting lives of my patients.
In what ways do you feel that you have been able to most impact patients?
I focus on doing my job well. I hope that in doing that, I’m positively impacting others.
If you could give one piece of dental advice that you want everyone who reads this to see, what would it be?
Floss, and brush twice a day. If you notice something different about your mouth, there might be something going on in your body that you may need to address.
What would be something that your patients might not know about you?
I write romance novels, and I belong to Valley Forge Romance Writers.

I enjoy going to church and reading on nutrition and natural homeopathic medicine.
