New Team Members at Boulevard Dental Associates

Boulevard Dental Associates just recently took on two new team members! We’d love to take this opportunity to introduce these two wonderful ladies to you. You will find that they share the same enthusiasm for the dental field that we do, and that they hold to the same values that make our practice what it is. We are pleased to introduce to you…Lori and Dawn!

Lori

Lori comes with a wealth of experience in the dental field, and has worked in the field since 1995. Before joining us, she worked at the same dental office for 26 wonderful years, filling multiple positions, including dental assistant, expanded function dental assistant (EFDA), office manager, and insurance coordinator. She graduated from Harcum College as an EFDA in 2001. Upon completion of the EFDA program, she attended Penn State University for 7 years to study science and psychology. She very much enjoys restoring teeth, cosmetic dentistry, and teeth whitening. Lori’s favorite part about dentistry is being able to help patients feel comfortable and at ease in a setting that could otherwise be considered stressful. She loves to help people feel good about themselves and their smile.

Lori is a native to the Reading area, attending St. Joseph’s grade school and Central Catholic High School. She loves her hometown, and says, “I couldn’t have wished for a better childhood experience, playing kick the can, riding my bike to all my basketball practices, and coming in when the street lights came on. It was the best sense of community. All of the parents looked out for each other’s children.” She and her husband, Jim, founder of the Reading Science Center and a downtown business owner, attend many functions to help with the revitalization of the city, including fundraisers for the Reading Science Center, Fire and Ice Festivals, and more. Together, Lori and Jim have five children and an adorable Silky Terrier, “Pippy.” Outside of work, Lori enjoys attending all of her children’s many sporting events, reading, traveling, and running her personal clothing business, “Always Be Nice.”

Dawn

Dawn also has a long and varied career in the dental field. She started her dental career in orthodontics. She was an orthodontic assistant for 10 years before becoming a dental assistant. She spent 22 years at the same dental practice and then went on to dental hygiene school at North Hampton Community College. She graduated in 2011 with a dental hygiene degree. Dawn loves what she does as a dental hygienist because she loves to make a difference in people’s lives, to work with children, and to help patients achieve their optimal oral hygiene health.

Dawn was born in Warsaw, Indiana, but she spent most of her childhood in Phoenix, Arizona. She later graduated from Warsaw High School and attended Mundas Travel School in Phoenix. She went on to work as a travel agent, and to live in southern California. She moved to the east coast after she met her husband, Russ, and soon she started her career in the dental field. Dawn has the loving support of her husband and children in doing what she does. She has been married 35 years to Russ, and has 3 children and 3 granddaughters. Russ works in construction and also does a lot of volunteer work. When Dawn is not working, she loves spending time with her husband, children, and granddaughters, particularly at their camper where they hike, kayak, fish, and make s’mores together! Dawn also enjoys serving her community at her local church and at community functions. Her hobbies are cooking and baking, gardening in what her neighbors call her “botanical garden,” and going to Penn state football games.

The next time you are at our office, please make a point to say hello to Lori and Dawn, and to welcome them into our Boulevard Dental family!
